Recently, the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) declares every industry, either old or new, must have setup of effluent treatment plant (ETP). In addition, Bangladesh Bank signed an agreement with 21 private commercial banks of the country to provide loan scheme of up to Tk. 1,00,00,000 (1 crore) with maximum 9% interest for ETP outlay. On the other side, the Department of Environment penalizes the industries with production shut down till installation of ETP.
